I wanted to give you my wash & go and wanted to share some of my favorite products kind of a mix of higher end products mixed with drugstore, to kind of show the best curly human hair wig routine to get high definition and volume curly hair, this is sort of my like fancy wash and go routine.
Because I do have an event tonight, so I wanted to hop on here, just to show you what I used for this day, two and a half hair I love a lot of volume these days. I will give you a drugstore routine in the future, but without further ado, let’s get into this wig’s wash and go routine.
Brigeo – Curl Charisma Shampoo & conditioner
I use Brigeo curl charisma and I really really love this shampoo and conditioner combo. I’ve used brigeo for their deep conditioner prior to using these products and really just love the formula everything smells super good, you can definitely check them out online, I just really love how easy it is to rake through these products it’s just simple.
These are sulfate free silicone free and just products that I know I can trust my hair is really easy to detangle with both the shampoo and conditioner from this line. so I knew that I could count on those for my deep conditioning treatment, because my hair is color treated, I do try to do protein treatments at least once a month.
Shea moisture
My hair has been a little bit on the drier side over the last few weeks, I wanted to do my Shea Moisture jamaican black castor oil. deep conditioning treatment, this does have protein in it. It’s just really helpful for reviving my curl is helping them bounce back. so I’ll leave this on for about 30 to 40 minutes, realistically I probably didn’t even need to leave it on that long, I think with protein mints 20 minutes 30 minutes tops is just fine, just because it is very concentrated, so you really don’t need to leave it on for that long.
Hotheads deep conditioning cap
To speed up the process and the effectiveness of my deep conditioning treatments, I do like to still use my hotheads deep conditioning cap, I love this thing I just pop it in the microwave for a minute on one side a minute flipped inside out, and then I repeat that just one more time, I run it through three times, then I’ll leave that on my head for the duration of the time.
Make sure you put a shower cap on underneath, just so you make sure that the deep conditioning cap stays in good condition, you’re not letting the actual towel material soak in all of your product, I like to just leave it in the shower cap. This time around I left the Brigeo conditioner on with my deep conditioning treatment, kind of because I was lazy but also because I have learned that mixing your conditioners there’s usually no problem with that.
It’s really helpful just to kind of massage these products, make sure that they really get deep into your hair shaft and like I said 20 to 30 minutes is about all you’ll need for this kind of concentrated conditioning treatment.
Leave-in conditioner
After rinsing out the deep conditioner completely, I went in with a leave-in conditioner and honestly I prefer to choose my leave-in conditioner based on the styling cream, a lot of times I’ll use the stylers from an entire line, but I also do like to curl cocktail just depending on what kind of results that I want to get, so with brigeo products I do notice that I do get a lot of definition, but not always the same kind of volume that I want to have until a little bit later in the wig.
deva curl super-stretch cream
In order to ensured volume and definition, I use my deva curl super-stretch cream, this stuff is amazing it’s really great if you have kind of tighter to here coils and curls like mine, just because it does give them a little bit of a stretch, definitely gives them definition and I just really like my results with this.
Coconut Shea leave-in eden bodyworks
I decided to pair this with my leave-in conditioner from Eden Body Works, this is the refresh and renew coconut shake leave-in conditioner, really all the products from this line are amazing you can get them at Target and Sally’s a bunch of other stores, but this helps me detangle my hair so so well and a little goes a long way with this, you’ll see the detangling process is super easy with this and it paired really nicely with my styling cream, my process when it comes to styling my hair is always leave-in conditioner cream, and then a gel or mousse.
Volumizing Mousse – moroccan oil
This time around I did decide to use my Moroccan oil mousse, because it gives me a really nice hold and it also just gives my curls something a little extra, I feel like sometimes when I use gels it does weigh my hair down a bit, but mousse is because they’re sort of whipped and lighter. It just makes my curls shrink up a little bit more in a very cute way, if I don’t need to have an amine great hair day is usually, when I’ll go to gel and by day to gel is just fine, but for this routine mousse was necessary.
Clips
The reason that I use clips as I’m working my way through my styling process is, because it really helps stretch out the roots just a little bit, as it’s drying so that I can get a little bit more length and stretch to my hair, I’m usually just leaving the clips until my hair is about 70% dry, and then I’ll take them out and usually go with my diffuser or continue to let it air dry.
You do deal with shrinkage on your first couple days, this is a great way to combat that and I have been using that, since I have been fully natural to been a few years now have nothing bad to report for that, if you want a little hack crocodile clips on your roots are the way to go.
Denman brush
I really do love to finger comb as much as possible when I’m detangling my hair, but nothing quite gives me definition elect of the Denman brush, so this is you can get this from the beauty supply store this isn’t the name brand Denman.
You don’t want to spend $15 or whatever to get one like this from your local beauty supply store for like five to ten bucks. Detangling my hair with this, as I’m styling putting my products through slowly make sure the ends are combed through to get that super nice juicy defined curl.
Dry hair using a diffuser
The next section so I do try to air dry my hair as much as possible, however I’m impatient a little bit so I do like to speed along with the diffuser, even though I usually use my blow-dryer on the pool setting and switch off between warm and cool, it’s always just better to go with the natural side, if you can’t as it allows your hair to really soak up, the products and the water naturally, but I don’t think I’ve experienced any damage using a diffuser, so that’s how you want to go.
Afro hair comb
To get extra volume and definition on your day one and two, after your hair is completely dry use afro hair comb and I just hit these roots and just lift up, probably like one or two inches, I love doing that in the front, just it helps me kind of get my shape, and then just sort of style it the way we want get the back.
If you want to fill it out just a little bit more, but you’re always getting into the root so you’re not really trying to focus on the outside pieces right here, you’re always gonna try to focus on sting underneath. What’s going on here or what the magic is that makes your hair stand up, but it works.
